Ya llevamos más de un mes en Canadá y sé que tengo esto un poco abandonado, pero ahora trabajo muchas horas al día y, si tengo que elegir entre mis peques o escribir, ya sabéis hacia dónde se inclina la balanza.
It´s been a month since we arrived to Canada and I know that I have the blog a bit forgoten, but now I´m working lots of hour a day and if I have to choose between the girls or writing, you know what´s going to win.
En realidad, quien debería empezar a a escribir en el blog es mi marido. Desde que vinimos aquí, se ha convertido en amo de casa y se pasa el día con las niñas, con estupendos resultados para toda la familia.
Truth be told, it should be my husband writing this blog. He has become a houseband since we arrived and spends all day long with the girls, with excellent results for all the family.
La experiencia está siendo estupenda para todos y, aunque a mí me cuesta mucho pasar menos tiempo con las peques, y eso hizo que me planteara si no nos habríamos equivocado al principio; mis hijas están perfectamente atendidas por la mejor persona que podría ocuparse de ellas. ¡Y mi marido lo está disfrutando un montón! No todos los padres tienen la oportunidad de ocuparse de sus hijos 24/7 al menos por una temporada. Somos unos privilegiados.
This is a great experience for all of us. It´s hard on me to spend less time with my little ones and that made me question myself if could have been a mistake. However, my daughters get the best possible attention by the best posible care provider. And my husband is really enjoying it! Not all fathers have the chance of taking care of their kids 24/7 for a while. We are very lucky.
Y, contra todo pronóstico, mi marido se ha iniciado en el homeschooling the sus hijas. Hemos comprado un programa de pre-lectura en inglés y cada día trabajan una lección. Son lecciones cortitas y muy manipulativas, del estilo que en esta casa nos gusta. Quizá más directivas de lo que yo haría, pero a él le sirve mucho tener unas pauta claras que seguir. Al fin y al cabo, yo jugaba con la ventaja de haber estudiado magisterio.
And something unexpected has happened: My huisband is homeschooling our daughters. We have bought a pre-reading program and he is teaching them a lesson on daily basis. They are short lessons and totally hands-on, the way we like them. They´re maybe a bit too directive for my taste, but he finds it handy to have a clear structure. But I have the advantage of having studied to be a teacher and he doesn´t.
Me encanta la relación que mi marido tiene con nuestras hijas, cómo me cuenta todo lo que han hecho a lo largo del día y ver cómo disfrutan juntos. Estoy pagando un precio alto, pero creo que está siendo bueno para todos.
I love to see my husband´s relationship with our daughters, how he tells me everything that they´ve done and realize how much they are enjoying each other. I am paying a high rate, but I think that it is being good for all of us.
